Autism Canada
Autism Canada Foundation is a registered Canadian Charitable organization.
Registration Number is 865878466 RR0001
Autism Canada Foundation was inspired by a group of parents with a common objective:
To help find a cause and a cure for autism
We felt there was a lack of representation, in Canada, of all effective treatments and therapies for autism.
We decided that Canada needed an organization that provided "uncensored" resources to parents and caregivers, with special emphasis on biomedical treatments.
We choose treatments for our ASD children through the use of an integrated, "multi-disciplinary" approach, combining biomedical, nutritional and behavioural treatments.
Autism Canada Foundation believes in a holistic and comprehensive approach to treating autism and encourages all parents to seek information on the biomedical, behavioural and nutritional treatment options that are available.
Parents need to partner with informed Health Care Professionals to provide the best care for their child.
We believe that Autism Spectrum Disorder is more than simply a dysfunction of the brain, but rather, a dysfunction of many systems within the body.
Current research is certainly supporting this theory.
We want to ultimately change the way that autism is diagnosed and treated by the professional community.
By promoting Research and Scientific dialogue examining autism as a "medical" condition, rather than just a behavioural problem, we will work towards a cure.
We support research for the underlying cause of autism.
Autism Canada's aim is to shift the paradigm of how we approach the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder, not live within it.
Advice to Parents
Please question service providers that tell you there is only one "proven" treatment. Please question them if they say that children do not recover from autism. We think they are wrong. There is research and there are statistics to prove they are wrong. There are real children who recover and are no longer considered "in the spectrum" in accordance with the psychological definition. Some parents write books about them, other parents just celebrate privately. Please don't give up hope that your child will recover.
