Our history is one rich in education, advocacy, support and an unwavering dedication to improving the lives of those living with autism spectrum disorder and their families.
Autism Canada is the result of an amalgamation of two national autism organizations, Autism Society Canada (est. 1976) and Autism Canada Foundation (est. 2002). Both were trailblazers on their own. When they came together to reflect on how to best support the Canadian autism community, the two realized that collectively they could do much more than they could individually. The result is Autism Canada – the only autism advocacy organization with a national perspective on the issues currently facing those with ASD, their families and other stakeholders.
