What is our Community Assistance Program?

The Community Assistance Program (CAP) supports autistic individuals, their families, and caregivers through providing financial aid. The CAP fund subsidizes the cost of psychological assessments, physical and mental health therapies, and interventions not covered by provincial health plans. The fund will also subsidize the cost of respite care for individuals on the spectrum and/or their families and caregivers to reduce the current rise in demand on the mental healthcare system.

Autism Canada’s Community Assistance Program Roster 

Autism Canada invites qualified professionals to express their interest in joining our Community Assistance Program (CAP) roster. This initiative supports autistic individuals and their families by partially subsidizing the costs of essential services and providing financial assistance not typically covered by provincial health plans.

More About the Community Assistance Program (CAP) 

CAP is designed to significantly ease the pressures experienced by autistic individuals and their caregivers by partially covering expenses for psychological assessments, physical and mental health therapies, early support, respite care, educational transitions, and more. Joining CAP allows you to become part of a dedicated network of service providers delivering timely and necessary interventions.

As a service provider on our CAP roster, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of autistic individuals. Your expertise will help improve living conditions, offer resources for future planning, and promote better health outcomes. 

 

Who can join? 

Autism Canada welcomes expressions of interest from dedicated professionals eager to make a positive impact on the lives of autistic individuals and their families. Our Community Assistance Program (CAP) is seeking service providers across a range of disciplines to join our network. We invite:

  • Psychologists and Mental Health Professionals

  • Educational Specialists

  • Respite Care Providers

  • Therapists

  • Registered Healthcare Professionals

​Requirements

  • We seek professionals who are registered and in good standing with relevant Canadian licensing bodies. Service providers should be capable of delivering one or more of the following: psychological assessments, therapeutic interventions, respite services, and other supports as detailed in our program guidelines.

Application Process: 

  • Interested parties are encouraged to apply by completing the submission form, which will be automatically sent to our CAP Team. Please include your credentials, service offerings, and any experience you have in supporting autistic individuals.
